A-frame holiday house in Vrata, Fužine, is conceived as a contemporary interpretation of traditional mountain architecture, designed for living in nature and within a winter landscape.

The ground floor accommodates the living room, dining area, and kitchen, all oriented towards the surrounding scenery through large glazed surfaces that bring in natural light and establish direct contact with nature. The gallery level above serves as an intimate sleeping zone, overlooking the double-height living space.

The architectural form is defined by steep roof planes that embrace the entire volume of the house, creating a distinctive silhouette while allowing snow to easily slide off. The timber cladding of the façade emphasizes warmth and integration with the natural environment, while the large glazed opening connects the interior with the outdoors and enhances the sense of spaciousness.

Set within a plot surrounded by greenery and orchard trees, the house harmonizes with the natural landscape of Gorski Kotar. Its minimalist design and simple spatial organization provide a peaceful retreat, while the iconic character of the A-frame typology gives the building a recognizable and unique identity.
